ENV312 Aquatic Resource Management
Aquatic ecosystems are amongst the most threatened globally. Effective management is necessary to protect and restore these vital ecosystems. This unit focuses on applying understanding of aquatic ecology to address key management issues in the context of current policy and management frameworks. The unit considers the perspectives of a wide range of stakeholders and critically evaluates natural resource management in aquatic ecosystems. The unit complements other units that focus on ecology and conservation and restoration biology. Theoretical understanding is linked with a practical field intensive or work with field data that explores management of aquatic ecosystems and associated resources (e.g. fisheries) in Australia.
