This unit introduces students to the notion of teaching and learning in a variety of school year levels in educational settings. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of child and adolescent development, teaching and reflective practice. Students will explore their own experience as a learner and begin to consider best practice for student learning.
This unit has associated professional experience of 10 days that is spent in a school. As schools are mostly Australian based schools, all students enrolled in this unit must provide a current police check/working with children card to the school and CDU Professional Experience Office prior to the commencement of the professional experience. It is recommended that students considering enrolling in this unit view additional information about professional experience, handbooks and dates at In-school Community.
