EST504 Digital Technologies and Education
This unit focuses on critical analysis of the relationship between the affordances of digital technologies and their application in teaching and learning. It provides an opportunity for pre-service teachers to deepen their knowledge of the critical role that digital technologies play in 21st century education and their transformational impact on teaching practice. Fundamental concepts relating to established and emerging theories of technology-based pedagogy are critically examined. Pre-service teachers will critically apply digital technologies in the new teaching and learning paradigms. Research activities in this unit will span broad and specialist topics requiring critical, creative, and responsible application of digital technologies for teaching and learning.
