Assessment and reporting are significant aspects of the learning and teaching process. Assessment monitors the learning progress and demonstrates achievement of outcomes, and reporting makes results available to a range of audiences. The need for teachers to understand the complexities surrounding the various approaches to formative and summative assessment is an essential component of their work.
