EST510 - Research Based Practice and Leadership
This unit introduces preservice teachers to teaching as a research-informed profession. It includes exploring how published research and student data inform teachers' work, while also developing the skills and understandings required for teachers to work as researchers. They will develop critical thinking skills related to evaluation and application of an evidence-base, to improve practice in responsive and thoughtful ways. These understandings are then applied in preservice teachers' development and critical reflection on their role and responsibility as educational leaders in making research-informed quality improvements across all standards, and especially in pedagogical practice.
