HEA425 - Research Methodology and Ethics

In this unit students will examine the role of research in health practice. Students will evaluate research paradigms, design and research methods including various data collection and analysis techniques; and will develop their skills in critical appraisal of evidence in relation to a research question. Students will reflect critically on research ethics, and will develop an understanding of diversity, culturally responsive practice and culturally relevant research practices, including those reflective of First Nations Australians' approaches to knowledge generation. With guidance by their supervisor, students will identify a research topic and commence a rigorous evaluation of relevant literature in preparation for their honours research project.
