In the face of rapid changes in healthcare delivery at a local, national and global level, today's healthcare leader needs to be dynamic and adaptable. This unit examines contemporary approaches to managing organisational change within the health context. Students will develop an understanding of and reflect on their own leadership style through exploration of leadership theory. Building on this foundation they will establish a theoretical understanding of change management and its application in a real-world setting. Advanced communication skills of influence and negotiation will be developed throughout the unit. This unit will also provide the opportunity for students to plan, implement and evaluate a change management project.
