HEA532 - Mental Health Care and Trauma
This unit examines biopsychosocial reactions to trauma, including reactions to and coping with crises, to the development of post-traumatic stress disorders. Students will develop a specialist knowledge to inform their practice in supporting different groups of people to recover from a range of traumatic experiences. Students will also investigate and discuss how to promote resilience in order to prevent the development of post-traumatic stress disorder, as often seen in, first responders, front line staff and defence force personnel.
