This undergraduate unit provides a comprehensive overview of international human resource management (IHRM) as it is practised in the multinational enterprise (MNE). Students will develop a critical understanding of the complexities and challenges encountered in:
The context of international HRM
Strategic and functional HRM in international contexts
Addressing global HR issues
The unit is designed to motivate the development of a critical understanding of the theoretical foundations and practical implications of the key aspects of IHRM.
It is assumed that students have completed HRM201 Human Resource Management. HRM201 introduces students to the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in a domestic and international context and examines contemporary HRM issues in the management of people within organisations.
