HSC121 - Australia's Healthcare System and Policies
This unit explores Australian health care delivery, funding systems and policies, and the core aims of providing a health service across Australia which offers equity, quality, and efficiency. Students will investigate the health status of Australia's population, the health workforce, and the different levels of health care from primary and community care to
secondary and tertiary care. The roles of the Territory, States and Commonwealth government in the funding and provision of those services is covered, as well as the roles of the public and private health sectors, challenges in the provision of the health workforce, and current health policy debates. Students will be introduced to how health policy development occurs and explore current health policy.
