LAW515 INDIGENOUS PEOPLES AND THE LAW
This unit offers a study of Indigenous legal issues focusing on the interactions of systems of authority relevant to Indigenous peoples, such as the intersections of modern state law with traditional customary law. A significant portion of the content will be of an anthropological and comparative religion nature. This unit covers a range of topics, for example property law issues, the recognition of Indigenous legal systems by states, and contemporary Indigenous legal issues.
