This unit will provide students with an understanding of current theories of first and second language acquisition and recommended approaches of language learning in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community situations. Students will be required to formulate an appropriate framework for community language acquisition and/or maintenance for Indigenous languages, taking into account the varying needs of different groups.
