MID210 - Complex Pregnancy
This unit introduces students to the theoretical foundations for midwifery care planning, support and assessment of the woman experiencing a physically complex pregnancy. Students will explore interprofessional care and consultation and referral processes to other health professionals will be discussed. Physical complexities may be existing or emerge during the womans pregnancy and may be directly or indirectly pregnancy related. The focus of this unit will be on the physical complexities experienced by the pregnant woman and the role the midwife has in supporting her, enabling the woman to experience her pregnancy to the most positive extent possible.
