NUR135 - Primary Health Care
This unit introduces the principles of primary health care and community practices. Students will explore primary health care frameworks and approaches across the lifespan. Using a strengths-based approach, students will apply critical thinking skills to develop culturally safe person-centred care for the community setting. Students will be introduced to primary health care provisions including health promotion, disease and illness prevention, rehabilitation and palliative care. Students will examine local and global approaches to primary health care and the roles that economics, society and politics play in improving health and wellbeing.
