NUR515 - Pharmacotherapeutics for Independent Prescribers
This unit will prepare the Nurse Practitioner student as a non-medical independent prescriber with the knowledge and skills they require to safely prescribe and integrate pharmacological therapies into their clinical management and treatment plans. Topics include: principles of Quality Use of Medicines, Safe prescription including collaborative practice, the pharmacological principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics and the application of these into clinical pharmacology. The unit requires 20 hours of supernumerary integrated professional practice.
