PHA504 - Applied Pharmacotherapy in Patient Care C

This unit explores the pathophysiology of the respiratory, musculoskeletal, integumentary, and reproductive systems. The pharmacology of medicines that affect these systems will be covered and applied for dispensing and counseling on these medicines. You will also develop medicines management plans and patient-centred care, within the ethical, legal, and professional framework. You will expand your triage and communication skills to provide over-the-counter medicine, education, or lifestyle advice as required.

This unit will allow you to translate theory into practice with a one-day a week (7.5 hours) work-integrated learning professional placement in an approved pharmacy setting, including an inter-professional practice component.
