In this unit, the students will study the advanced topics related to program and portfolio management, and they will learn the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques necessary for the project portfolio and program management. The Project Management Institute (PMI) defines a program as a group of related projects managed in a coordinated manner to obtain benefits not available from managing them individually. A portfolio is defined as projects, programs and operations managed as a group to achieve strategic objectives. This unit covers selecting programs and projects that support the business strategy of the portfolio of an organization. Students will evaluate, select and implement various portfolio management models.
