PSY415 - Psychological Interventions

Students completing this unit will learn the skills of clinical interviewing based upon empirically validated models of clinical intervention. Principles of therapeutic intervention are covered, with attention paid to techniques for establishing and maintaining collaborative therapeutic relationships in a cultural context, issues concerning therapeutic process and content, and other factors routinely encountered in clinical practice. A theoretical grounding in the knowledge and application of a range of therapy types for common psychological disorders across the lifespan is provided.

This unit is taught online and includes 2 x 3-day compulsory on-campus intensives residential schools. The exact time and location of the intensives will be communicated to each student ahead of time via timetabling.
