PTY300 - Clinically Applied Anatomy

This unit will enable students to develop comprehensive normal and pathoanatomical knowledge to identify the specific functions, structural demands and mechanisms of injuries associated with sport, work and common musculoskeletal conditions. Relevant current research will be used to justify targeted physical assessment and diagnosis, and to support rationales for injury prevention, management selection and evaluation of outcomes across the lifespan. The unit addresses static and dynamic biomechanical analysis, neural tissue examination, joint dynamics and examination, specific ligamentous stress testing and muscle testing. Students will apply this knowledge and enhance their practical skills by working through clinical case scenarios featuring common conditions and pathologies experienced in clients seeking health services.
