SBI273 - Trauma Studies in Paramedicine

In this unit students will develop skills in managing mental or physical acute trauma in a pre-hospital setting. Students will enhance and develop their practical, decision making and problem-solving skills in a culturally diverse and stressful pre-hospital environment. Students will also learn about common injuries and evidence-based management principles. Emphasis will also be placed on effective teamwork and communication when dealing with stressful and time-constrained pre-hospital case scenarios. Virtual reality simulation utilizing a case-based approach will prepare students for the placement units.
