SBI274 - Advanced Resuscitation and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine

This unit builds on knowledge acquired in previous units such as clinical examination and decision-making skills. The focus of this unit is on further development of the role of the paramedic and the skills required to provide care at an advanced life support, paramedic level. Students will develop skills in the most common medical and surgical emergencies seen in ambulance practice, managing patients suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory conditions. The unit will address the clinical presentation of cardiovascular/respiratory and associated disorders, ECG interpretation, and respiratory assessment.
