IAS324 - Sociology of Crime and Deviance

This unit examines the institutions of social control in Western industrial societies and explores the processes by which deviant behaviour is identified and regulated. The distribution of deviant behaviour is explained in terms both of the immediate context in which it is labelled and produced and of the wider processes of an increasingly disciplined and bureaucratised society.
