SWK320 Field Education A

Field education placement is an exciting and challenging experience for students where they test themselves in a Social Work role, develop knowledge skills and values in the practice environments.

Students are expected to begin their social work practice development by exposure to and participation in social work practice in a field agency. Their practical learning will be extended by integrative workshops fortnightly throughout the semester. Students doing this unit will examine the integration of theory with practice, including critical applications of intervention frameworks, use of general social science knowledge and process analysis of micro skills. Emphasis will be placed on developing a beginning consciousness of students' social work practice at three levels: self, agency and profession.
