In this unit, students are introduced to a range of culturally safe and responsive practice skills to communicate effectively with First Nations Peoples. Students will analyse the impact of colonisation and institutionalised racism and the role of social work practice and critically engage with their own positionality and how it shapes building relationships with First Nations Peoples. Students will develop emerging cultural knowledge and skills including co-creating ethical approaches to practice.
