TES501 - Research Methods in Applied Linguistics
This unit introduces students to key quantitative, qualitative and mixed research methods in Applied Linguistics to prepare students for undertaking independent research within the discipline. Students will critically evaluate the merits and limitations of different research methodologies, apply the methodologies to real-world research contexts and write their own research proposal. This unit develops a wide range of knowledge and skills in research design and the application of Applied Linguistics research methodologies to different research contexts. Students will complete the unit with the foundation knowledge and skills required to write a Master's thesis.
